Application for Tents, Canopies, Temporary Membrane Structures and Special Events

This application is for a special permit for the use of a tent, canopy or temporary membrane structure as required by the International Fire Code, Chapter 24.

Permit Requirements: •Completed application with accompanying plot plan per tent, per use. •Permit fee, as detailed in fee schedule, to cover plan reviews and inspections (valid for one year). •Certification of flame resistance from manufacturer. •An inspection of the structure, prior to occupancy, by a Red White & Blue Inspector.

Structure Dimensions

ATTENTION! Occupancy of the structure without a posted permit or before inspection may result in additional fees or delay in event. An inspection should be scheduled after receiving approved plans and may require 48-hour notice. Permit application, permit card, and certifications of fire resistance must remain with the structure and be available during the event.

MINIMUM TEMPORARY MEMBRANE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 20 ft from any property line, building, or other membrane stucture Minimum 30 ft from automoblies or other internal combustion engine One 2A 10BC fire extinguisher will be required Two exits Exits may be required to be illumunated and/or have exit signs Hay, straw, trash, and other flammable material shall be stored at a minimum of 30 ft away Smoking shall not be permitted in membrane structures
