Letter of Achievement to Community, Posted on: February 26, 2020
February 26, 2020
Keeping you, your family, and our community safe is Red, White & Blue’s number one priority. In honoring this commitment, I am proud to update you on the achievement of two critical milestones aimed at better protecting and serving our unique community. Not only have we have received a second significant accreditation earned by only a handful of other Colorado agencies, we obtained an ambulance license from Summit County.
After two years of conducting a comprehensive self-assessment and undergoing an independent external review by national experts, Red, White & Blue is now one of only six agencies in the state to receive accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), considered the "gold standard" of the ambulance industry. With a primary focus on high-quality patient care, the commission’s standards - met by only 192 other agencies in the country- typically exceed state and local licensing requirements.
This is Red White & Blue’s second significant accreditation. In 2012, we were accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), which recognizes agencies that are community focused, data-driven, strategic-minded, fiscally sound, properly equipped, and appropriately staffed and trained. We are one of only 11 organizations in the country to hold both accreditations.
Achieving these high standards helps us help you, especially now that we have received an ambulance license from Summit County. After years of negotiations, Red, White & Blue obtained its license January 1, 2020, which ensures we can tailor our services to be strategically aligned to support our community’s needs. Quick response times and first-rate patient care are critical to the area we serve, with medical emergencies comprising 58% of the emergency calls we received in 2019.
Our professional, highly trained, and multi-discipline personnel are committed to delivering the best service possible to you, your family, and our district’s visitors. We do this by continually improving our skills and quality of patient care, implementing vital technology and rigorous standards, and holding ourselves accountable to our community to meet the needs of our citizens and visitors.
We are honored to be part of your community.
